Fay Frahske Burns was born November 14, 1924 in Milford, Utah. The second child of German immigrants, Oscar E. Frahske and Alma Hunt Frahske, she lived on the Escalante Desert and in nearby Lund, Utah. She graduated from the new Cedar High School in 1942, attended the Branch Agricultural College 1947-1949, and received her B.S. from College of St. Mary's of the Wasatch in 1954. She received her M.S.N. from the University of California at San Francisco and was an assistant professor of nursing at Southern Utah State College from 1974-1979. She married Merle E. Burns of Beryl, Utah, in October 1979. She currently resides in Kanarraville, Utah.
