Anna Porter Seaman was born in Orderville, Kane County, Utah. She finished her public education at the Branch Agricultural School in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah and then attended Brigham Young University for five quarters. She worked at Eureka Banking Company in the Tintic Mining District for eight years, and then worked as a clerk-stenographer for the Dixie National Forest and the US Forest Service. She married Frank W. Seaman on October 14, 1938. He was a widower with a large family and was preparing to retire from thirty years service as a Forest Ranger. They made their home in Cedar City. Anna collected both family and community history, especially of her native town, Orderville. She and Frank wrote "Biography of Frank W. Seaman," and she wrote histories of her mother, Martha Heaton Porter, and her father, Francis Alvin Porter. Frank died July 27, 1963, and Anna died November 10, 1994.
